Discovering information about family history I think is a bit like fossicking for gold. Sometimes you just find little pieces of information that can add up to something substantial, then sometimes you hit paydirt and uncover a story that is amazing and valuable.
I have started this blog to share some of my discoveries with family, and perhaps to find distant relatives that share an interest in family history.
I have been dabbling in genealogy research for about 20 years and I am still trying to fix my early mistakes. The best advice I can give to someone starting out is to take good note of your sources! It makes life so much easier. I welcome any good advice people have to share as I am still learning.
I am a first-time blogger and I am not a writer, so please be kind! I will try and make this blog readable.
I will also definitely try hard to supply links and sources and acknowledgments. If you think I have missed any, please let me know.
Thanks for reading!
Just finished reading this. It has amazing research, thanks.
ReplyDeleteMy great great grandmother was Theophilia, my great grandmother was Florence and her child Dora Kelly was my grandmother.
Hello Helen, Thank you for your kind words! We must be distant cousins. :) I am descended from Thomas and Theophila's daughter Elizabeth Pauline Jones. Do you have an interest in Family history research? Cheers!
